Operator and scope

LSD Field Maps is an independently owned website operated by an individual in Alberta, Canada. This policy explains the information handled when you use the mapping service, account page, analytics, contact form, and external links.

Information collected

The service records aggregate counts such as site opens and feature-use events. It does not intentionally store IP addresses, advertising identifiers, or precise device fingerprints in its application database. Saved and recent locations remain in the browser storage of the device being used unless you clear them.

Account information

The optional account page uses ChatGPT sign-in. During an authenticated request, the site may receive a user identifier, email address, and display or full name from the authentication service to display account status and control administrator access. The application does not maintain a separate user-profile table. Authentication providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Location searches and maps

Coordinates and legal land descriptions entered into the tool are sent to the site’s lookup service and applicable government geospatial services to return survey geometry. Individual search terms are not intentionally retained in the analytics database. Map tiles, imagery, survey data, navigation, and social-sharing features use external services that may receive coordinates and ordinary network information, including an IP address, under their own privacy practices.

Contact and feedback

Feedback messages, the selected message type, an optional reply address, and the submission time are stored in a private database for review. Feedback records are automatically removed after 24 months unless they are deleted sooner or must be kept longer for a legal or security reason. The service does not sell personal information. Do not submit confidential, safety-critical, medical, financial, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Purposes, consent, and disclosure

Information is used only to operate the service, respond to messages, maintain security, measure aggregate feature use, and administer access. Personal information is not disclosed except to service providers needed to operate the site, when you direct an external link or sharing action, or when disclosure is required by law. By submitting optional information, you consent to its use for the stated purpose.

Safeguards, retention, and access

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Personal information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose or as required for legal and security purposes. You may request access, correction, or deletion of feedback information by providing enough details to identify the submission.
